“Gippstech intuitively understood our website needs, and made valuable suggestions for consideration. The response from our clients has already been extremely positive.”

- Kristie Morgan, Co-founder of Regional Migration Australia

Kristie Morgan and Trish Reardon run Regional Migration Australia, a Gippsland based migration agency. With a strong focus on regional migration outcomes, the business works closely with employers experiencing difficulties around skilled and semi-skilled labour shortages. Through the use of Industry (and company specific) Labour Agreements, the business is helping regional employers to address key gaps in the mainstream employer sponsored visa programme, enabling them to access workers from a broader range of occupations.

In addition to General Skilled Migration and Employer Sponsorship pathways, the business also assists with family visas such as Partner, Prospective Marriage, Child, Parent, and Family Sponsored visitor visas.

As a new business, Regional Migration Australia needed a professional website that spoke directly to the needs of their audiences. So they reached out to GippsTech.

The jobs board was a central feature of the project. “The goal of the jobs board is to provide a free platform for employers to connect with potential skilled candidates, when an Australian can not be found”, says Kristie. One of the biggest challenges for Australian businesses and potential migrants is the lack of knowledge surrounding the visa process and paperwork. There are many skilled migrants who have trained in Australia, and are subsequently looking for opportunities. Connecting employers with skilled labour boosts productivity and helps to alleviate some of the challenges faced by regional employers. It was vital that RMA position themselves at the centre of this process, as the people with the expertise to help both employers and candidates navigate the process.

The site needed a suite of additional features to make it usable and fit for purpose - a client portal, an appointment booking system, a newsletter subscription form, and a blog. The team at GippsTech had to ensure that the website also integrated into the client’s existing systems. As a new website with a new domain name, these features were all used to assist in search engine optimisation (SEO) and indexing.

A lot of effort went into the design and layout of the website so that it was both on brand for Regional Migration Australia, and emphasised Kristie and Trish’s desire to work with regional businesses across Australia.

“One of the most important considerations we made was in balancing what would be considered a text heavy website, so that it was not overwhelming to the user. We achieved this by using features such as tabs and accordions to make the site user friendly and simple to navigate”, says Cindy Siew, GippsTech’s Senior Project Manager.

“The response from our clients has been very positive. It was important to us that enquiries could seamlessly integrate into our business systems, including our client portal, so that our clients could access their case information.”

Since launching the website, Kristie and Trish have already received a number of automated appointment bookings from people needing help with their migration strategies.

The entire project was delivered remotely during COVID-19. Without the luxury of face to face contact, the team at GippsTech held regular meetings online right from the start, and used Confluence to work collaboratively with Kristie and Trish on the website content and requirements. “This project was done under a tight timeline, and GippsTech were able to efficiently execute this without any delays”, says Kristie.

“Kristie and Trish were a pleasure to work with. They trusted our expertise and gave us creative freedom to bring their new website to life in a way which would appear professional and reflect their brand”, says Cindy Siew.
